Dr. Dunas is an internationally acclaimed lecturer and educator and among the first non-Asian acupuncturists in the U.S. In 2002, she was awarded Acupuncturist of the Year by the Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine for single-handedly introducing the subject of human sexuality to the OM profession. Dr. Dunas is also among the first non-Asian acupuncturists in the U.S. With more than thirty years' experience in this field, she has developed an extensive private practice that utilizes Western and Chinese medical techniques. She is a public speaker, consultant and executive coach to corporate and healthcare industry CEOs and has lectured in more than 60 countries. She also consults with corporations and hospitals on lowering health care costs with alternative medicine.
Before earning a bachelor's degree in sociology/international health care from UCLA, Dr. Dunas served an apprenticeship in San Francisco with noted Japanese and Korean acupuncturists. Her doctorate degree in clinical Chinese medicine and pharmacology was completed in 1988 at Samra University. She is the author of the best-selling book from Penguin-Putnam, PASSION PLAY: Ancient Secrets for a Lifetime of Health and Happiness through Sensational Sex. A veteran media guest, she has appeared on numerous national and regional television and radio shows, and is a frequent contributor to leading publications here and abroad including: Ladies Home Journal, Prevention, Glamour, Marie Claire, Women's World, Cosmopolitan, and Men's Health, among others.
